Training is the gateway to starting your MRC journey. We offer in-person and online training opportunities on a variety of public health and preparedness topics led by subject matter experts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Training is intended to prepare you for a variety of deployments and situations.<\/p>\n<h3>TRAIN &#8211; Our Online Learning Management System<\/h3>\n<p>Upon approval of your VVHS application, you will receive access to a free account at <a href=\"http:\/\/train.org\">TRAIN.org<\/a> We ask that you not create a new account, please wait for the Welcome Email which will contain instructions to access your TRAIN account.<\/p>\n<p>The following courses are REQUIRED before deployment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MRC Orientation<\/li>\n<li>Cybersecurity and HIPAA Awareness Training for MRC Volunteers<\/li>\n<li>FEMA IS 700 Introduction to the National Incident Management Plan<\/li>\n<li>FEMA IS 100\u00a0 Introduction to the Incident Command System<\/li>\n<li>Personal and Family Preparedness<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to Public Health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other helpful trainings to have before deploying:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Psychological First Aid<\/li>\n<li>Basic Life Support or CPR<\/li>\n<li>First Aid<\/li>\n<li>Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.train.org\/virginia\/training_plan\/3868\">Greater Prince William MRC Training Plan<\/a> for all the required and recommneded courses fo volutneers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>In-Person Training<\/h3>\n<p>We also offer in-person training opportunities. Course offerings will depend on the needs of the Health District and MRC Unit, as well as availability of instructors. Popular training topics include BLS and First Aid.<\/p>\n<p>Need to request a specific training? Let us know!<\/p>\n<p>Are you an instructor of a topic that might be of interest to other MRC Volunteers? Tell us!
