Programa Integral de Control del Cáncer de Virginia (VACCCP, por sus siglas en inglés)
The mission of VACCCP is to reduce the incidence, morbidity, and mortality of all cancers through prevention, early detection, treatment, and rehabilitation. VACCCP is working towards accomplishing its mission by developing partnerships, delivering health information, providing training, and shaping policy, systems, and environmental changes. The Virginia Cancer Plan guides the work conducted by VACCCP and our community partners. Activities include:
- Encouraging people to live a healthier lifestyle
- Promoting cancer screening tests
- Increasing access to cancer care
- Improving the quality of life for cancer survivors
La Coalición de Acción contra el Cáncer de Virginia (CACV)
The VACCCP partners with the Cancer Action Coalition of Virginia, known as CACV, to address the burden of cancer in Virginia. They implement goals, objectives, and strategies outlined in the Virginia Cancer Plan. CACV serves as an important alliance of organizations and individuals working together to provide statewide guidance, support, leadership and coordination of cancer prevention and control activities throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
El Registro de Cáncer de Virginia
The Virginia Cancer Registry (VCR) is a statewide registry of data on individuals diagnosed or treated in Virginia. Virginia residents who received cancer care out of state are also listed. This data helps to guide cancer control and prevention programs and initiatives.
The Virginia Department of Health maintains the Virginia Cancer Dashboards. They are a collection of individual dashboards that provide cancer data by locality, health district, sex, race, and cancer site. The dashboards show the burden of cancer incidence and mortality in Virginia.
